Last week I had the opportunity to be in Crockett’s booth at the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Their theme “Live the Adventure” was quite fitting for the World’s Largest Outdoor Show. What a show! Archery, Guns, Guided Hunts, Fishing, Trucks, Campers, Beef Jerky and even jewelry made from shotgun shells just to name a few.
Of course, Crockett was there. What outdoorsperson wouldn’t love a hunting cabin, or a lake house, a weekend getaway for hunting, fishing or just to escape from it all. I had such an enjoyable time talking to people. Perhaps you were one of them that stopped by. Some of you were still in the process and looking for land, some were happy homeowners and some of you were ready to start building. When is the snow going to melt so I can get started!?!
One thing you may have noticed when you stopped by Crockett’s booth was that we’re not professional salespeople. The guys in the booth with me were all builders. They have been building for decades and know a thing or two about building departments, permits and how to get things done. They aren’t fancy, they aren’t the guys behind a desk that show up just to see how the job is going. They are the guys who are on your land, hauling the material around, driving the forklifts, swinging the hammers, working the nail guns, climbing the ladders. You get the picture.
So, when I was asked, who will build my house? These guys. They worked at their jobsites in the morning and spent their afternoons, evenings and weekends to meet with you, to talk about their passion, share their gifts, their skills, their expertise with you. To meet you so that you’re comfortable knowing who is building your home. At Crockett, we’re real people and the pictures in our booth are homes that the guys in the booth built.
