Question: How much does a home cost per square foot?

Answer: While this may seem like a very easy question to answer, we have learned through the years that “it all depends”. Everyone has different tastes and budgets. What you desire in your home is often different from what someone else wants. That’s the beauty of building your own home. Most often, it’s because you can’t find what you are looking for on the markArrow Flex Pricinget.

Take a moment to think about your ideal home. Decks, porches? What’s the view out your windows? Do you wish to capture that view with large trapezoids and French doors out to a deck where you can sip your morning brew? Maybe you would rather a sunroom or a screen porch.

Standing in your home and looking up, what do you want to see? Is your ceiling covered with wood; or do you want a smooth white ceiling? Do you envision heavy timbers?

Now look down, is it is a thick, plush carpet you can sink your bare feet into or perhaps a smooth dark oak wood or maybe some rustic pine boards you complemented with throw rugs.

Look around you. Do you see sleek granite countertops and smooth oak cabinets? Or perhaps you have chosen the rustic look of knotty pine cabinets and a butcher block countertop.

Let’s talk about the bathroom…is it just a place to just “do your business” and get on with more important things or would you rather unwind in a large walk in shower big enough for two, a large soaking tub or built-in sauna.

At Crockett, we strive to provide you with a complete price breakdown for you to make choices based on your lifestyle priorities balanced with your budget restraints. Each of these building components vary greatly in cost and we haven’t even discussed the fireplace!

Now, you may be thinking, I’m going to do the work myself, I just want a weathertight shell. That’s great! We’ll happily provide you with that price for one of our floorplans, one you found elsewhere or even one you drew up yourself from your rough ideas. But, we want to get the price right. We don’t like to “guess” about what you want. Porches, decks, one story or two, number of exterior corners in the house, pine floors vs. oak and v-groove vs. gypsum…it all makes a difference and we’d love the opportunity to get to know more about your project and provide you with a price to fit your budget.
